- Mr. Saga Sato became a new lecturer in Muroran Institute of Technology and took over the laboratory of computer vision (the birth of Saga Lab).
- Mr. Saga Sato became an assistant professor.
- Won the prize for the best interactive presentators in "Interaction 2001" (Sato, Takikawa, ...., Saga)
